, Member of Bullfrog Brown
- Estonia (Estland) - "I love the natural sound of a resophonic guitar. But since sitting still in front of a microphone onstage is not really an option with Bullfrog Brown, I have learned to prefer the warm distortion of handwound magnetic pickups to the thin unnatural screech that most piezos produce.
I was very, very paranoid about getting my first Schatten RG-03, but I'm paranoid no longer. With its perfectly balanced strings and faithful reproduction of resonator sounds, I believe the RG-03 to be as close as you can electrically get to the inimitable acoustic sound.
Hell, on some nights, it's probably a whole lot better!" |

Dear Schatten,
I would like to say that the Schatten pick up for classical guitar is the Best in the World...:-)
I am, after short test. The sound is very natural.
I looked for a pick up like Schatten for a very long time. Congratulations.
Best Regards

The Schatten Design resonator guitar pickups, great stuff!!
I just got this pickup and I have installed it in my tricone.. And I like the Schatten TC pickup very, very much!!
It’s natural sounding, get’s that great “cone-tone” and it captures the “honk” and the overtones of my tricone!!
I’ve tried some pickups of the same kind as the Schatten but no one comes close! Sure, I could get nice sounds from other’s as well but that took a lot of EQ work and testing pre-amps.. The TC I just plug in to any amp or PA and it sounds great right away!!!

....Kenny Hill of Hill Guitar Company, California endorses the Schatten HFN-C series of pickups for classical guitars.....
"We are currently using the Schatten pickup, made in Canada. It is a fairly recent addition to the market selection and I have been using it successfully for a while now. My priorities regarding pickups are these:
1) It doesn't hurt the acoustic sound of my instrument.
2) It sounds reasonably like a classical guitar.
3) It's not too complicated to install or use.
4) It is reasonably priced".
"The Schatten has satisfied me on each of these issues". |
